The HSE only has a single disc player.....the vehicle has moved on now to better mediums for storage of audio entertainment.

What's missing from the nav ? I've been quite impressed by how current mine is.

Hi RSK - I went to North Wales on Sunday and a fair few of the newer roads at the M56 Chester - Gateway to Wales road were all missing or wrong - I know these roads have been there for some time now. Just thought a week old car 2010 model may have an up to date system- as one of the other posts said I will take it back to the dealer unless any other ways of updating. Tim

Hi Tim,
That's annoying, we've got a couple of fairly new bypasses near us and I was pleased to see them on.
With the old DVD based nav updates were done once a year. The beauty of the HDD is that in theory updates can be done as and when just like they are with a TomTom or similar.
The issue though is what process there is in place between LR and the nav unit supplier. You'd like to think that they have an arrangment whereby updates are made available on a regular basis rather than annually or else that would negate one of the two main benefits of teh HDD system (the other being speed).
My assumption is that the vehicle needs to be at the dealeship for any update and that they just hook it up and squirt the new data on. With the old DVDs it cost an aram and a leg each time a new disc came out. I've no idea what charging structure LR propose for map updates but I'd be keen to find out.

Hi RSK, I have just emailed the dealer with questions on the sat nav and LED front lights - they do not work as per the initial marketing claims from LR - I will let you know as soon as a response comes back. I really love my LR's had them for years, the Disco 3 was a fantastic car, the D4 is great but I wish now I had the HSE not XS that seems a bit of a waste of a model - come back SE! Thanks Tim

The way I understand it, the system works by buying an update, or additional map via the interweb - which spits out an authorisation code. You take that into the dealer, who plugs it into the system and the HDD is updated.
Here's where you need to go:
http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP...rEUCatalog
D4 MY 2010 is not online yet, but is coming soon. There is also a section where the dealer logs in to get the mapping data.

Thanks Winger - The link is working but no updates available yet - I will update you when the dealer gets back to me - they should pay for the latest version I would have thought?( to get the system current as per delivery date) - maybe thats why its not been updated!! Tim

Thanks Winger, that's interesting.
I hope they adopt a more realistic approach to charging than with the physical media (£136 p.a. ) given that they will now have a monopoly on price as it's a download. FFRR Vogue SE - Waitomo

this confuses me, with the hse I lock the car from outside by pressing the button on the door, it all locks, fine, but then missus insists on pulling the door handle to check if it is locked, & as she has the spare key it unlocks itself again, so she re locks it, She doesn't again check, but then is continually worrying that it isn't locked. At this stage I walk off & leave her to it. never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly

Brilliant, I hadn't thought of that one. You could leave her out there all night checking it! I just rely on the loud clunk-clunk as everything locks and the mirrors fold in.
