When I read the heading... I thought you'd already solved this. Oh well. Nice if it turns out to be an easy fix.D4 XS MY12 Galway

I thought the whole point of them was to display LR's new design language - or whatever the marcoms people call it these days.
Were the UK D3s built with DRLs enabled? I thought they were only enabled for specific markets or customer requests.

Exactly what I thought. I mean, some gadgets would ensure customers may add them on at an additional cost. But no one is going to buy an HSE just to have running light enabled are they? I bet Audi don't restrict their DLR signatures on base models of the A5.
Seems totally odd to me.
Anyway, after speaking to a couple of auto electrical places in town, they suggest the canbus wiring is so difficult to get round now, it would take an ECU mod. Any clever bods on here got a plan to maybe look into this going forward? If in doot, flat oot!!

Having had some discussions with 2 dealers LED lights are only availabvle with Bi-Xenons. These are standard on HSE but an option on all other derivatives. 4 x 4 x Really Far!

I thought they were fitted to both types of head light but seemingly not activated on the halogen ?
Again, whats the point of fitting DLR's and then not using them ?

That is correct. Is there no way of setting up and running a seperate supply with relay/resistor to get them working? Some one who has one needs to have a play me thinks.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

DRL enabling is usually a dealer function using T4 except for markets that demand their use. DRLs for the D3 use the parkers and there are 2 different settings for specific markets (1 has DRLs working only whilst in gear & IIRC the other also when in neutral). I had earmarked the Canadian specification for when I got a D3.
If the parking lights are not automatically operating whilst driving then DRLs are not enabled at all. If a D4's parkers are automatically turned on whilst driving then DRLs must be enabled and something is wrong with the promo blurbs because the LEDs are supposed to be the DRLs.
Ask your dealer to turn on DRLs.
Edit. Maybe DRL configuration is also owner-configurable in the same way that many other options can now be configured.

Master Tech at my local dealer said it's not possible to turn on DLR's for non Xenon headlights (ie GS an XS). That's the party line, but we all know there's some clever guys who frequent this site If in doot, flat oot!!
