This section should be called 'over my head' as I have no idea about the combustion engine let alone the technical side of the D3 . ( on my first car - a VW beetle , it took me an hour to find out that there was no radiator )
Whilst brousing the techniacal section of the forum I read an item about the latest patch . I gather this has nothing to do with clothing and a lot to do with Landrover Disco's .
When i pick up my D3 next week ( ex demo ) should i be asking the salesman if its had the new patch ?
If he says 'what' ? I'm just going to say ' I dont know' .

I would phone them early this week and ask them to upgrade to the latest software version as part of the pdi.
The latest patches are certainly of benefit.
They impove the HVAC system, cold rstarting / running and overall driveability. Zermatt silver 06 reg.
Gone but not forgotten !!!

before picking up my used D3, I asked the dealer to ensure the latest software was installed. When I collected it he said it had been done without me prompting him, however the heater doesn't get hot until its on 24 degrees... should I be suspicious? Car drives superbly apart from that.
I suppose theres no way of checking unless you have your own diagnostics machine in your garage lol

Yes - well possibly - prior to my software update recently the heater was poor in operation had to turn it up way above the desired temp to get it going and even then the heat would only come via the windscreen vents and not speread throught the cabin vents.
Post upgrade the heating \ cooling is perfect - works at the temp set and spread through all vents evenly.
If this is not happening for you - then go back and specifically ask for the heating patch again. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
