Tow Reverse Assist
Has anyone out there played with the reverse assist function for trailers? If so, is it any good? I assume the three point target that you need to attach to the trailer is available from the dealers? Anyone know how much? I was expecting (hoping) one would come with the tow pack or surround camera option so I could play

I have tried the sytem. It does exactly what it is supposed to; but so do the mirrors. Good for a novice tower I would say.
There is a bit of a problem with getting the 3 circles from UK dealers at the moment - don't know the price or when availible.

Thanks - Good to know that it works I fancied having a play with it - I tow fairly infrequently but when I do it often involves reversing through confined spaces so I'll take any help I can get
My garage hadn't heard of the 3 circle target but have gone away to try and find one. Did you manage to get a target to set your system up or can you do it without the target?

Yeah the target has not really been explained/made availible to the UK network; clever hey! Must have the target or the car has no reference point, then detail such as hitch to axle length must be entered; the vehicle must also be driven for a short period at low speed for the sytem to "learn" the trailer path. I don't have the surround cameras but have tried it on a Land Rover Experience vehicle and trailer.

Where do you put the target, it does not say in the manual, just says you need one.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Sounds to me as though you should go to Land Rover and claim a refund on the grounds that the system is "Not fit for purpose".
What's the point of giving you a half a so-called aid. It's a bit like giving you a rear view mirror without the silvering, or a gearbox without a selector lever.

target
My dealer has sent me the target, but it is paper, and large 7inches x 7 inches. I wouldn't something this size stuck permanently on my caravan. I've not had chance to try it yet.

I assume this is part of the Tow Assist Feature LR promote - if so, are they really serious about using a paper target as part of the feature on a £40-50k car , or is the OP just having a joke

I've put a copy of the target on my gallery. I don't know if it is possible to download from this, but if not, & anyone wants a copy I'll willingly e mail a copy.

Russell, when I connected the trailer & turned on Tow assist, an amber square appearred on the screen, which showed as central to the gas bottle area, the target needs to be placed inside this area, & then I believe the feature callibrates itself. I haven't had chance to test this fully, never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly

The LR experience one had the target on a square style number plate - obviously prevents the damage.
It wants to sit facing squarely forward behind where the rear view camera is.
PKO is correct the square will turn to green if the target is correctly detected.

Hello!
My new Disco 4 HSE with Surround Camera System is just arrived.
I've tried to undestand how Tow Assist works, but I don't know where I can find the target and where I have to put it on the trailer.
My dealer doesn't even know what Tow assist is because the only Surround Camera System he has seen is mine.
Any help?
