Gents,
Snorkel is now available through spare parts. This is the factory unit.
We ordered one yesterday & arrived today.
So we have one in stock & it sold this afternoon.
So lets see them on the vehicle. Will post back when we fit it to see the good & bad points.
Cheers D4 Alaska/Almond 2.7 TDV6 with E-diff & extra's..

Pete,
Can you send me a price for the LR one to my work email address. I'm assuming it is the G4 one.
Tell me if it can be sealed around the guard as well.
Thanks

Evening Gents,
Today i fitted the first Snorkel i have seen to a D3..
A very easy fit with the correct tools..
Good points - looks quite futuristic, reasonably well made, sits well, easy fit.
Bad points - Cant seal against the body because it is removable!!!!!
For when the bonnet needs to be lifted vertical.
It could be sealed if u really wanted too. If u dont want to open the bonnet fully then yes u could seal it properly.
That was the only bad point..really

Is that the LR one? If so there's no need to remove it to fully open the bonnet, at least not on the one they sell in the UK The End

i Can understand the bonnet bit, but if it doesn't seal, what's the point?
I need dust protection probably more than water protection, so sealing properly is important to me.
Is the smorkel sealed sufficiently to prevent dust ingress at the existing air intake level?? Have a nice day!

Slimer, Jamo,
It was the factory unit..
Do u have a part no for the UK variant, i gather it is the same, but we have only just received ours this week gone.
Jamo, it seals against the body with the rubber/foam pad, how tight i couldny really tell(but not that tight), as some of the bolt heads also sit against the pad..
You really need to see one on the vehicle, its hard to describe. D4 Alaska/Almond 2.7 TDV6 with E-diff & extra's..

Could one of the UK guys with the Raised Air Intake take a photo of where the intake meets the body and describe if it sits tightly against the seal or not.
Also please check if the bonnet can raise to the vertical postion without the removal of the intake.
This would be much appreciated particularly if the bonnet can be raised vertially without the snorkel being removed then you can seal the intake against the guard with silicon.

My reason to fit the snorkel is to get the intake above the dust (not that much deep water round here). So as long as it can be made to seal fairly well against the car then it has my vote.
After all, how often will one need to raise the bonnet vertically? Anyone got some photos of one yet? Ex Defender 110 200Tdi owner.

If you want to fit long range tanks - the only one available now is a Long Range Automotive one (Lilydale, Vic) that goes where the spare wheel is. 110l more fuel!
You then need to carry the spare on the roof, or get a wheel carrier - KAYMAR are working on their replacement bumper with carrier - some way off still. I'll have a couple of carriers for the D3 like the Land Cruiser ones that bolt onto the car with the std bumper in a couple of weeks.
cheers,
Simon D3 - Buckingham Blue, SE, TDV6, 06 model; chipped; underbody armour; Mickey Thompson ATZ 275/65-18 AND MAXXIS Bighorn muddies; rear wheel carrier from 4x4intelligence.com; iPOD aux connection! GME 3200 UHF - aerial mounted on wheel carrier ; LR roof rails/cross bars; Autosafe cargo barrier, Safari Snorkel; Traxide - aux battery; ARB bull bar with Tigerz11 winch; Lightforce 240 XGT driving lights (mitchell bros tow hitch to come)

Hi group,
I have just had some info sent to me today at work, a CARGO BARRIER is now available. It is rated to AS4034 so it meets the standards.
Prices to follow & some more details as we have ordered one for a demo, also assured easy fitment leaving no holes.
It is NOT a Milford, as it is made by Tradesman Engineering. D4 Alaska/Almond 2.7 TDV6 with E-diff & extra's..
