There is a lot of truth in this statement. I often think its the bottle and not the mind that comes up with some of the comments on here

I missed all this fun, that'll teach me for buying extra nice vino in France and drinking too much of it last night then falling asleep. Back on the wagon!!!
Did you model the guy on a certain controversial land agent?
Properly fooked last night, combination of long hours, caffeine and cider had me up for a bit of mischief I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Quite often these discounts are negotiated spur-of-the-moment with relatively small businesses. You start messing around with "and the site owner wants a cut" and see how long the offer of a discount lasts.

Why's that then? if any group buy is beneficial to forum contributors, why the need for 'approval? sorry if I'm not 'getting the point' but I thought that forums were there for the benefit of users, with content generated by the users and sponsors / donators providing the means for the web site to exist financially
Granted, no forum is a democracy but those that turn into a dictatorship wither and die...
Iain...
My cold light of the day comment... not aimed at any sponsor BTW (or particular Group Buy) as I'm sure they are all jolly decent business people with iron glad morals of honesty, fairness and decency.
But.
Surely if a member offers to set up a group buy for everyone, its because the relevant 'sponsor' have not done so or does not want to do so. Any decent sponsor would chip in and say... 'hold on chaps, I can help you out here as I supply this product' and thus increase the value of the group buy for everyone and add kudos to said sponsor.
If a sponsor doesn't chip in, then its their loss as far as I am concerned.
As for products not supplied by any current sponsor, then of course Martin should approach them and point out the interest for it and suggest they might like to consider supporting the Group Buy or even becoming a sponsor. This can take place in the background rather than possibly halting a Group Buy until Martin has a yes or no from the supplier.
IMHO (worthless I know), the forum has become far to over protective with its sponsors. Bending to their requests for threads and comments to be deleted or the poster publicly 'told off' in order to stop any negative comments or difficult questions being published. In these cases we have to ask who really runs the site ?

My size 10 time!.
Who runs the site: Martin does. It's his business and thus his and only his to do with what he may - it is not a club or democracy.
If he takes a decision and we dont like it what can we do?. Three options:
Like it
Put up with it
off.
Cant see that many people doing the latter TBH at present.
I dont think the site is over protective at all TBH, what you have to way up is slanderous comments aimed at sponsors that might be liable to legal action etc. Seeing the DISCO3 is the 'hub' for these 'words' it 'could' be held partly responsible if it doesnt watch what it does. This can be party to 'DISCO3 EVENTS' when it comes to any liabilities from accidents......My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/NeilDisco#p/u/5/Dz4-Q95GQ2c

It can't be that, there are 3 LR Dealer parts departments on the sponsors list, Only ever see Martin and the mods promoting TLO in threads, and i have used him and would agree the service is first class, i would be a bit p d off if i was one of the competing sponsors though.
And this is not a dig at anyone, just an observation I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.
