Would be nice if it was the case. Arno

But would you expect the car to be cleaned if they had changed the windscreen, knowing adhesives take time to set properly I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Seems a poor excuse. 45 miles is not that far. especially when you consider that Lakeland picked up my mates RRS from Richmond (yorks) left him with a brand new FL2. Brought car back in the evening hoovered etc and all work done !!!
Round trip 166 miles !!!!! x2

Normal procedure would be for ALL cars that come on the premises for work to have wash and or hoover
Sometimes this may be missed but not on purpose but should be offered as a "when your passing" obviously that may not be practical in some circumstances. TLO has left the building.......

Only experienced top serivce myself, and I opted not to have the car washed and vac'd as I had to head for home.
Will be booking in for next service soon, always seems to be a friday too
I'm sure another problem could be that all dealerships are monitored for cost to rectify / warranty repair rates. Therefore a dealer with a good reputation ( I was told this by LRCS) get lots of people booking in. Therefore they have a higher warranty claim value. High claim value = more bean counters from LR going over claims and playing to the book. I could of course be talking s e "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Hi Nick,
Thanks for that.
I will then ask the next time I am coming.

I have used YVL a couple of times and unfortunately I had a problem once with a power steering seal, which they had replaced. I have to say they bent over backwards to fix it and even sent me some spare parts as a gesture. To be fair it would have been very difficult to spot when it was replaced that there was a problem anyway.
To be honest problems happen whatever garage you use and however careful they are, but it is how they are dealt with which is important and YVL have been great to me. They even lent me a car for 2 weeks when I had my compressor fail, without it I would have been really stuck. I don't know many garages who would do that.
As for the wash and vacuum, I have always had it done, but if I was waiting while they did the work I wouldn't expect them to do it.
As for Nick, he offers exceptional levels of service and also offers help willingly.

SJR - you're on the nose about it being unrealistic expectations about the EPB and cracked sunroof mechanism. Having read here that many have had this work under warranty, that's what I expected. Maybe if I'd had my expectations set correctly on booking that LR were no longer doing this(I thought I had made it clear I considered all this warranty work), I maybe wouldnt be writing this today. Also, an "I'm sorry sir, as your windscreen is being done we wont be able to wash the car or will need it another day". In my experience of my customers, they get irked when their expectations aren't set correctly.
The wash itself is not really an issue but the attitude of "Well you've had your discount so there isnt a problem" is what got up my nose (especially on top of everything else I guess) Doug to be fair did offer a wash next time in.
Nick - thanks for the offer sir but Peter and I have discussed all these points and I have agreed to move on and accept them as they are. My feedback here is as I see it. Similarly I gave great feedback to Nick and the team in the past on the last service and parts purchases.
Finally here, the EPB is with LRCC and VOSA and they are investigating. And I have a written statement that that regarding the sunroof: "Should the plastic deteriorate to a point of failure in the future, the case would need to be refered to Land Rover for consideration"

OK That is very interresting... I am living 2h from YKR therefore I was always waiting while YLR was waiting for the car...
May be a reason why.
Thanks again Arno

The thing I find puzzling is all the talk about washing.
I send my car to YLR to be serviced or mended, not to be cleaned. I do not, and never have, regarded having my car cleaned as part of the service specification.
