replacing windscreen

I have had my TDV6 hse for just on a week (1900 kms) and it has done everything it is supposed to do so far. Took it for a running - in trip down to charters towers via the Gregory development road and sure enough a stone from a passing car cracked the screen. It is in the drivers line of sight low down, about 12 inches long and mowing west despite two attemts by instant windscreens to stop it. The screen will need replacing in due course. Does anyone have any 'be aware of' notes that I should pass on to the repairers as I know they have not done a D3 screen before.

this car seems to 'eat up' the vast distances of the outback. I was always at a town far sooner than I should have been

screen replace

Even when mine was replaced by experienced LR guy, they managed to press too hard when replacing the plastic trim at the bottom of the screen. Pressing too hard slightly bent the fixing tabs and caused them to make contact with wiper rod.... causing a nasty noise but also putting extra load on wiper motor. All fixed now but beware.

my dealer warned me that its a regular issue for the plastic trims down the sides of the widscreen to break whilst being removed, so they may need replacing.

Not if they're removed carefully. The clips tend to break but they're only a few pence to replace

The clips holding my plastic trims broke simply by driving into a headwind at 110kph! Shocked
