Looking for some feedback if anyone would be interested in a machine polisher.
Removing swirls by hand can be hard work, time-consuming and often leads to inconsistent results. The answer is a machine polisher – and the most user-friendly of all are the orbital machines (often called ‘Dual Action’ or ‘DA’ polishers). Because the polishing head travels in an orbit, there is less chance of the paint being inadvertently damaged. This lightweight (2.3kg) Dodo Juice DAS-6 500W orbital machine comes with a soft touch gear cover, ventilated 125mm backing plate (to fit the usual 5/16†thread), over 3m of cable (UK plug, 220-240v), a choice of D- or side handles, spare motor brushes and a Dodo Juice embroidered carry bag. It also has a year’s warranty and is CE marked. Please note that pads are not included and that orbital machines are not compatible with wool cutting pads or the Supernatural Machine Stick wax.
I can supply these for £99 inc delivery.
I am also looking at safe pad and polish combo of a finishing pad and lime prime to add to this kit, so that you would be able to remove light scratches and enhance the finish of your paint leaving an ideal surface for wax without fear of damaging paint. Prices would be in the region of £120 subject to confirming pad costs.
An ideal Christmas pressie. If there is enough interest by next week I'll confirm with you and order the units in.

Definately interested in a suitable kit John, as you know SWMBO has just bought a black car  , and even though it's pretty new, I can see a fair few swirls on it in certain light. My silver D3 has a few light scratches on it also, but not quite so noticeable.

How come the DA machines are not compatible with the Supernatural Machine Stick wax.?
I got one of these Wax sticks from you for my G220 DA and it looked ok on the wifes punto

To be honest I don't know why that is in the blurb for them. If you use the correct pad (finishing) then there is no reason not to. I had thought about removing that bit,.
Les, even JC could use this unit. As part of the additional kit I'm looking to add in 250ml of Lime prime, a 3M finishing pad and 3M lo-rack tape. The tape is to be used to cover door rubbers and handles. This stops accidental rubbing when you get close to them from the rotating pad.
If anyone local wishes to have a go with one or a demo on delivery just let me know and I'm sure I can arrange something.

I take it that this machine is a single speed one, I notice some (obviously a bit more costly) have variable speeds, is this feature an advantage / worth having?

The DAS-6 is a variable speed machine.
6 speed settings: 1= 2500 opm, 2= 3200 opm, 3= 3900 opm, 4= 4600 opm, 5= 5500 opm, 6= 6500 opm.

Forgot to add, that variable speed is advantageous for better control, whether applying wax at slower speeds to using a polish at higher ones to improve the paint surface.

Doh! Didn't see that anywhere  , but I'm glad it has variable speeds, I was concerned that one that operated at full chat all the time, wouldn't be as useful, thanks for clarifying that John

cheers for the clarification on the wax stick , i used it on a finishing pads as you say without problem

no problem mate I've asked the question of Dom to give the official word, but I've used this machine for glaze/wax/polish use with no issues.
