Tesco even paid for a new headlight bulb on mine for the MOT, plus an injector and a rear suspension bush thing.

Hi. Thanks for all the interest/questions.
To answer most questions, please see full t&c's on the warranty package:
http://www.jdconcepts.co.uk/Resources/MBI.pdf
We are only offering Platinum cover for the prices mentioned, as this is the most comprehensive of products.
DSL: Geographical limits are described in this pdf.
Phil: Serviceable items are constituted as wear & tear items which won't be replaced under the warranty, see exclusions on the pdf above. YES we can offer SILVER level of cover on vehicles up to: 12years old and 120k miles!
Prices on application (see PDF for details on Silver cover).
DiscoDunc: All mechanical & electrical items are covered including air con units.
Albourneboy: No unfortunately it's any package over 12 months repayment interest free. Finance is sourced via RBS and is not subject to status.

Hi Bodsy.
The platinum cover is the comprehensive cover type, it includes everything the premier one does.
Looking at the platinum cover: the pdf has the products listed the wrong way round, which is something we have asked to be corrected:
In the list of items it includes, the sentence at the beggining reads:
"ALL MECHNICAL & ELECTRICAL PARTS ARE COVERED."
Including everything mentioned in the premier package, plus the bits in addition which are mentioned under the platinum cover.
Thanks for pointing that out..

countrywide wrote:That looks really good, if your car is 5 years old, can you still take out the 3 year warranty even though it would be older than 7 years when the warranty ended.
I have a Tesco one, if not I would have taken this one.
Yes if your car is 6 years and 11 months old, you can still buy the cover for however long you like, and there is no mileage restriction whilst in warranty cover.
Slimer: Off Road Use: Thanks for your oservation mate, we did raise this ourselves, given our finance specialism with 4x4 cars mainly D3's and RRS'. We are dealing with a warranty package here.
If you have a mechanical/electrical issue with the car, it's unlikely the actual off roading incident on that day which has caused mechanical/electrical failure. If there is something that goes wrong, i.e. my RRS when i took it offroading in nottingham with a few of the guys in 2006, and my engine kept cutting out.
The offroading was nothing to do with the fact there was something wrong in the wiring loom of the car, and LR fixed the car under 'warranty'. The issue you would have is, whether your road side assistance would cover you off road, and when you got to the garage whether what has caused the car to breakdown is hitting a big rock and ripping the bottom of your oil sump out for example, or something mechanical/electrical has actually failed.
Accidental damage would fall under your regular insurance remit - which you should have cover for if taking the car offroading, and the assistance/recovery issue as mentioned above.
The classifications of cars covered under these warranty's are 'Private cars' used within manufacturers reccomended usage. If you have actually damaged the car physically, no warranty will cover this anyway, including LR's own.
If you have a commercial D3 or have the car being used as a commercial car for offroading training, demo car, pace car, taxi, etc then this warranty would not cover the vehicle, but please contact me if you do fit within this criteria and need a warranty package to suit.

thanks
Hi James.
On the pdf please go to page: 2.
On the right hand side you have a section named: "Additional Items Excluded".
This is the detailed area which states what is not covered under any level of cover.
Oil seals/leaks internal or external are not covered.
Cheers.

Kam, see what you're saying on the off road stuff, I'm none the wiser though Maybe an example would help.. There's been a few cases of broken CV joints off road, not due to damage but due the the extra stresses they're put under whilst off road (extreme suspension articulation, steering angles etc.) a few have failed whilst the vehicle was being used within manufacturers recommended usage. These were replaced under the manufacturers warranty, would this warranty do the same?
Another point...Exclusions wrote:8. This warranty is limited to a Mechanical Breakdown of each covered part on only one occasion during period of the Warranty. If I bought 3 years cover is the period 3 years or 3 lots of 1 years cover (3 periods)? The End

Yeah the off roading issue is one which would be dealt with on a case by case basis and depends as do all insurance claims; on the claimant's description, the garage it is taken to and their diagnosis, and the claim handler on the warranty company end. At this time, talking generally i can't say if a claim would be paid for or if it would be inspected/queried.
Talking about specific parts, the premier and platinum cover provide for:
"Drive System parts front and rear including 4x4 units.
Front / Rear suspension : Shocks, Coil Springs, Upper / Lower wishbones, ball joints, swivel joints, Mcpherson struts, suspension arms, anti-roll bar, self levelling units, resevoir, pump and regulator valves, seals, displacer, hydro-pneumatic system, also: wheel bearings, propshaft etc..".
See premier cover for the item breakdowns, the platinum cover does cover these and more.
The item mentioned does not fall under exclusions, so if it's not mentioned specifically and the car has been used 'within manufacturer recommended usage' and damage hasn't been caused by any prohibited 'behaviour'. Then they would find it difficult not to payout on the repair.
In regard to point 8, i have confirmed, it is as read. A 3 year warranty, would be one policy period, so if you are concerned about repeat failures of any particular items, then i suggest you should take out 1 year policies at a time, however there is no guarantee these packages will be available in 1/2/3 years time at the same prices as on offer now.
Also, if anything material went, such as gearbox/engine part, the part itself would be under a further 12 months warranty from the manufacturer themselves, so you wouldn't be at a total loss, but yes i do understand what you mean.
All our cars have auto boot lid's and Audi's lids break all the time, we have a warranty pack for a year on this package, and the boot lid was repaired, if it goes again within a year it won't be..
