Thinking of Christmas already, now that's a sign of the times or maybe that's just the shops jumping on the bandwagon way to early for most's liking.
Sadly, although i have been quite generous this year with not only an introductory discount offer but also a July summer special that many have taken advantage of, i have had quite a lot of stick for this from our Distributors and as such there are definitely no planned Santa specials in the pipe.
In fact, mentioning the demise of smoke and mirrors, as you especially will recall, when i first started posting, i defended our existing pricing primarily on the basis of not so much what it did then, but on what i promised it would eventually do.
As so many who took my word for it have, and will endlessly continue to discover, I am indeed very much a man of my word, and i will endeavor to continue endlessly adding more and more capability to our D3 software as time goes by until just like all the other vehicle software we have created and covered before it, there is simply nothing more to ever possibly add. After all, i know we are new and slow in respect of our D3 capability but otherwise we have always been recognized as being the Rolls Royce of LR equipment providers.
As such capability is actually added to our D3 software, i am of course mindful that it is not so much being sold on promise as actual there and then capability. And of course this naturally translates into a higher value.
So please if you are looking for any prediction, do not be entirely surprised if you see our systems growing D3 software actually go up in price some
Sorry if that sort of news was not quite what was what you expected chap, I am really just being open and frank about it.
Of course, there is always hope that there is some kind of competition that eventually comes in and is willing to develop and offer just what we do but at a lower price, and this can and has happened to some small degree, most often by people copying us. But i know all to well just how much it really costs to be the original developers and customers know equally how much better off they are sticking with the true pioneers even if it did cost a bit more.
I apologize if i sound or seem arrogant, i am really not, but i do know exactly where we sit in the market and i do try my utmost to bring the best possible capability at the best possible price. I am by no means wealthy. and you can take my word for it, a year or 18 months from now, some outfit will introduce CCF edit capabilities and happily claim uniqueness and that it was all self developed, even if it includes the little white lies to cover over the sketchy bits i invented like it was factual stuff.
Trust me, I have had this happen to me many times and thankfully, i have always long gone into future developments by then.
Anyway, that's quite enough rant for one night methinks

I respect what you're saying and I've seen your diagnostic equipment in operation, curtiousy of Wiggs. Impressive kit and far quicker than some of the manufacturers equipment I use
I'm not trying to cheapen you products or your hard work put into the development of them. I wasn't in a position to enjoy splashing out when your initial discount deal was offered but I like to treat myself to a gadget at Christmas and just thought I'd be cheeky and ask if any discounts were being planned cause your baby is on the top of the list for unwrapping

Yes i can get a bit over passionate about our equipment, especially after a few glasses I therefore apologize to Clive for my giving him such an unecessaserily harsh response.
You however have no reason to apologize Brumlee, i did not imagine you were trying to cheapen or devalue our kit or our efforts and knowing you have seen it in action and especially that you also have experience with manufacturers equipment against which to compare it tells me that you appreciate its true worth and value more than most would.
I only wish others were as clued up and understanding as its really hard to sit on my hands when i read comparisons being made against our equipment based soley on something like price.
After all a Disco 3 and a suzuki jimmy are both 4x4 vehicles right, but the suzuki is cheaper.
It's also very sensible to ask what the chances are of a future discount.
Anyway i got your PM, and i will certainly be doing my best to justify such kind comments about me

It was back in something like May or March of this Year, There was also a July summer special.
Lots of notice lots of reminders and warnings that when its gone its gone
And as i said earlier I have no intention to do another given our systems ever growing capability and features.

I couldn't hold out any longer so paid the asking price. As Colin said, it has some more features and I'm sure other companies would ask for payment for upgrades (as do LR for SATNAV discs)
Christmas will just have to come earlier

When it was first first introduced, a lot of buyers really had to take my word for it over quite a lot of doubt and negativity, that it was really an ok and now tried and tested system and that it was going to be added to and improved and as such a decent discount seemed only fair.
Shortly after, although we had already added some previously un imagined capability in respect of CCF edit functionality we decided to offer for the first time ever a Summer special of the same discount. Well after all we are all suffering from this damned credit crunch in one way or another.
At that time i expected to soon also be adding Flash programming capabilities. But sadly despite herculean efforts, that has been put back again and again with more and more stuff needed to be added and i am now even too embarresed to mention it. But i will in a moment
But i note with great interest that despite this delay in this anticipated and promised upgrade and despite their now being a vast number of members here who have invested in our equipment, there is absolutely no one who has any cause for complaint.
Does that alone not speak volumes?
As Matt says its not just some one or two things that you can easily explain. its the whole experience of getting your hands in theire and realising just what our system can do for you that truly puts an unwipable smile on your face.
As if this were not enough, the previously mentioned moment is now almost upon us. No longer soon, Next week or some other hope, that i as you, have had in the past about when the next upgrade will be realeased, how about tomorrow afternoon. Yep it is truly the night before and i just cannot wait to tell you all about the many varied and wondrous things i am finally and at long last about to unleash.
If you thought CCF programming was good, this is going to simply blow your socks off, and set the standard in our D3, Sport and L322 capability that we have always had with all models before it and which all other equipment manufacturers can only dream of achieving, just like i promised we would. Christmas is indeed coming early to all our system owners including you BrumLee.
Sorry i got all monumentalist and patriotic then
But I have been waiting for this as much as anyone.
For sure though it will take the value of our equipment well above any 20% off discount.
Hmmn a one day special Matt, interesting thought, you know i would retrospectively have to look after Brumlee, but i am a man of my word, for those who missed that fact.
Ok lets throw this open and see who would be interested in the ultimate christmas pressie, if there is enough interest i might well do it. If i offered a 1 day special of 20% on any order for a D3 system on say Dec 1st, who would be interested.
Tell you what, i will go one step further, if its more than 5, Not including Brumlee who would get some money back anyway, as that only fair, i will guarantee to do it.
