New D4 next week - side strips |
|
Hi - new to the site and very excited about getting my D4 HSE on Tuesday, I like the look of the side strips. Is it best to get these dealer fitted? Thanks!

Yes, then you'll have someone to go to if they fall off, though they shouldn't if they fit them correctly.
If you're buying the vehicle new and get the dealer to fit them before you take delivery they'll be covered by the 3yr warranty too
Oh, and welcome to the site Matty The End

also known as side strips - rubbing strips - door protectors
or any combination of the above.
This is of course assuming that Matty didn't mean side steps in which case they would fall off if stuck on with double sided tape

I had these fitted - the ones with the shiny inserts. See my gallery.
Dealer fitted - very good. Paul

I have plain side mouldings (accessories catalogue's terminology), dealer-fitted, photo in the gallery, so you can compare shiny-insert versions with plain ones on Zermatt Silver D4s...

Thanks All, much appreciated, this is a great site. Missed out on getting them dealer fitted pre-delivery but might try and get them mailorder and do them myself, having been doored before I'd rather be safe than sorry. Loving the D4 (my first LR) but having a problem with vibration through the steering wheel and in cabin at over 50mph (just posted a thread in the tech/fault section). Thought it could be a misaligned wheel so will have to get it looked at (unless anyone else has any suggestions) . Cheers.
