Mark on NSR light cluster under warranty ??

As you see from the pictures i noticed today while washing my car some marks on the rear light.
i didnt check all the lights when i collected the car so i suppose really its my fault for not looking round it properly.

The marks are as if the plastic has been melted by thinners on a rag or simlar where its attacked the plastic, they feel rough where the rest of the light is smooth.

Do i have cause/reason to go to the dealers for a warranty light or is it tuff ill have to put up with it ?

I know the pictures make it hard to see but you dont realy see the makrs unless you look hard for it but im Censored off that the lense in places has a haze to it Sad

And to add to the damage i found a stone chip on the bonnet also Big Cry

Pete

I'd get it changed, although it may polish out??
The stone chip would be hard to prove it hadn't happened on your way home for example.
I had a branch fall off a tree and ding mine about 3 days after it was brand spanking new which was a bit of a chocker!!

TBH the stone chip was probbaly my doing, althow ive been carefull not to follow the gritters i have beend on the roads behind car.

Re the light, i tryed some Autoglym polish and it didnt touch it Sad i even added some Meguires wax over the top to try and wax it away with no luck Sad
Ill try the dealers and see what they say.

Use some brasso and a very light touch.

May work, used to use Brasso on digital watch faces years ago (plastic) to get rid of light scratches.

As long as the rubbing is light and the cloth a fine weave, it did a grand job.

Looking at the pictures again, are you sure its not glue from a protective plastic covering ??

Before you try and correct it (and potentially make it worse), I would take it back to the dealer as it could well be a manufacturing fault with the lamp unit - which it looks like it to me.

If the light is still functional then it shouldn't be a problem waiting a couple of weeks to get the dealer to have a look Smile

Im not sure what it is Simon, its weird really it didnt rub of when washing it nor polishing it.

Martin you may be right, im probabaly best leaving it untill after crimbo and take to the dealers and show them see what they say, i suppose if they say no then i can try and sort it then.

As i said its not bad and ive not noticed it untill now even tho ive been in the boot many times.
I just made a point today to wash it proplery and wax it while taking note of every panal to look for imperfections which is when i found it, i wish i never looked so hard lol.

Well it turned out i was worrying for nothing, it was only some sort of glue that was left from the packing which had gone hard but it came off with a good hard rub with some of the dealers traffic film remover Smile

I appoligised to them for being so fussy and they told me not to worry that is what they are there for Mr. Green
