Steering wheel radio switches |
|
Hi Guys,
I upgraded my GS standard steering wheel with no switches to a smooth leather with switches 8) ,the cruise is working ,but the radio ones wont let me jump to the next pre programmed station,it just searches to the next strongest signal,I thought it would jump to the next saved station!!
I have also noticed a "settings" menu appears when I hold the stalk in ,but I cant access the actual settings via the Steering wheel radio controls.
Have i wired the wheel up wrong??
Any ideas
Cheers

Does the cruise show the orange indicator lamp on the dash when you switch it on?
The radio operation is correct - it will only seek the next available frequency, not change presets.
Not sure about the settings menu, but it's almost impossible to wire the switches incorrectly as they are plugged in using keyed connectors. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Mine will change presets and scan frequency ..quick dab for presets and hold down for search ( does this on my HSE and also old SE )
Did you have the settings menu before the swap ? G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Wiggs,
I dont think it did ,but I only stumbled accross this last night, while trying to fathom out the radio switches.
I looked in the manaul,it showed the chages that could be made in the settings menu,I thought the reversing wing mirror bit would be useful!!

Sorry - my comment about the switches only changing frequency and not presets is probably only valid for those of use with the base radio (CD-400) - the hi-line radio looks like it responds differently 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

So it is.....I looked quickly in your gallery and saw a sat nav screen so assumed it was the hi-line, now I can see that it's an aftermarket GPS that you've stuck in there....
So it looks like yours may just work like mine does - only frequency scan and no preset change 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
