What should be fixed before taking delivery?

Hi everyone,

I have a D4 on order, built in November and expected delivery date here in Australia in early February.
It seems a number of issues have now been found, and I want to make sure the most important ones will be fixed by the dealer before I take delivery Smile

After going through the threads the most important isssue seems to be the "Fixed vane turbocharger actuator sticking during warm up". How can I make sure this has been fixed before taking delivery? Is there some Service paperwork that points to the appropriate LTB being fixed? (I believe this is LTB00249)?

Are there any other major issues applying to November cars which I should insist on being fixed prior to delivery? I assume the Prop shaft centre bearing bracket issue should have been resolved in November already? Footwell water ingress?

Or do dealers have to apply all these fixes prior to delivery anyway?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Smile

Cool, looks like the November build should be ok in regards to the actuator issue, then and based on GraemeS's VIN number the Prop shaft centre bearing bracket should also no longer be an issue for cars built after November.
Thanks for that info.
Are there any other issues to be concerned about?

My landrover dealer are fitting a turbo for this problem, LR tech have authorised it to try and fix the car.
its the dealers own demo car as well Mr. Green

The worst part is its a body off and back on in 10.5hrs.

How do you tell if your car has this problem? Is it obvious?

It will be obvious it if has.

In some cases the forums can escalate a particular problem and people worry for no reason, they should only worry if they get problems instead of reading to deep into other peoples problems and thinking they will get the same.

I wasn't worrying Pete. I was just wondering if it could be a possible cause of my poor fuel consumption (22mpg at present with 3000 miles covered).

I think the economy one is a weird one tbh because when i drove my dealers car thrashing it i got 26mpg.

But like you my car only does 22 ish at the moment, once i get a few K on the clock ill be looking deeper but for the moment to me its not a worry because ive only covered about 600miles.

I recon when the weather gets warmer we will see a slight increase because the FBH wont be kicking in all the time, but for the power gain we have over the 2.7L i dont mind getting the same ecomomy as one for the moment.

Same here. Not too worried about fuel consumption at moment but if it doesn't start to improve after about 5K miles then I will be taking it in.

By contrast my D3 was doing about 27-29 when new.

Hi Guys

This is one of those posts you read, or maybe its just me, and It might as well be in another language. Embarassed
My cars VIN fits in the range quoted by Pete. I've had the car 3 months and only covered 300 miles.

First of all what is an 'appropriate LTB' and a TSB ?

What are the signs of the prop shaft bearing issue?

I appreciate what has been said, reference to forums making people paranoid but I'm visiting a dealer tomorrow due to my rear seat stitching coming apart and I'd like to mention these issues. My fuel consumption is also around the 20-22 MPG range and I've driven it fairly gently.

Sorry to be a newbie type nuisance. Thumbs Up
