What is it with Samsung? While everyone else manages to adopt common chargers across their range, Samsung seem hell bent on filling the landfill sites to overflowing with defunct chargers. Bought a new PAYG J700 as I needed something cheap on 02 (Voda signal is dire here in Kent) and thought I'd grab a car charger - only all the chargers in the shops are for other models. Slot looks identical but is actually about 1mm wider than the "standard" Samsung chargers and it doesn't match any of the chargers we have at home from older Samsungs either. About to order one of fleabay as none of the highstreet mobile shops have anything suitable, and keep trying to sell me the one that doesn't fit.
I thought the mobile industry was meant to be adopting a common mini USB charger standard? I reckon Samsung will be the last to crumble.
Rant over..... I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I'm with you on this one ND...it drives me mad...
We had finally managed to settle on one single type of charger at home - the mini USB...this worked for both my phones and my wifes Blackberry.
And then my wife changed her Blackberry and the new one has a.....wait for it......micro USB The worst thing is that there is room for a normal mini USB too
It's the same with memory cards - I refuse to buy any Sony stuff as I can't be arsed using anything that doesn't take a SD card. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Micro USB is the standard which has been adopted as the "common" charger connector for most manufacturers (including Apple, Motorola, Nokia, LG, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson) which will be migrated to by 2012. Andy
