PNF911 - don't give up on this! There seems to be a trend of attempts to dismiss warranty claims by LR but it is sometimes dealer claims record related - approach LRCS amicably to start with on the phone, if that fails put it in writing & give them a specified length of time to respond making it clear that you are claiming under the warranty and that you will pursue it if necessary - send a copy to JLR's CEO.
Then if they try messing you around or just delay, to be blunt I'd just shove in a small claims writ for specific implement of the terms of their warranty failing which damages (the cost to replace wheel + your inconvenience). 1,000:1 odds they'll then pay up before it goes to court (large organisations don't want the risk of a decree against them but like to try to bluff matters until they see you are serious!)

Twizzle...can u give some background at all ?
thanks also Ecosse..
as at today, LR customer sevices/warranty say its no claim.
i have started on the usual (un) charm offensive, including the true fact we have c45 cars here at work, and that nearly every client i meet on site asks me "whats that like........?" No avail..
will attack the CEO by letter( i think he`s new this week if i read correctly ?) and then small claims.
any other facts re this issue and hard evidence appreciated,
oh and it`s back in tomorrow with a nice bearing/layshaft/gearbox type noise as yet unidentified (at 35k miles)......... TDV6 HSE 2008.....as kindly specced right up by LR as demo ! fridge....yeh why not ?
