The standards on this site are rapidly going downhill.

sounds like this guy has a problem maybe he wants a disco 4 and is trying to make up a reason for not buying one- or maybe he is just jealous!! if he wants to take part in this forum he need to come up with constructive comments. We all know that there are problems with ALL new cars just look at BMW, merc volvo forums etc. We are all here to help each other - if you have nothing constructive to say than i suggest you don't bother to post!!ex DI D2 and D3 owner now have FFRR TDV8 but thinking of coming back to a D4 Love my Disco

He is diffrent to the rest of us, he has a LR3 were we all have D3's or D4's.
Back to his post, each to their own, most of us who have D4's have gone from a D3 to a D4 and it is probably a natural progression that all will go through eventually, an I do not see that I am any better or diffrent to anybody driving a D3. I still wave as D3's go past and most wave back. As said previously why slate each other, we are all here for one reason and one reason only, to learn about our cars, what they can do and how to fix/improve them. I just hope he does not come looking for help or advise in the future MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

He needs to know how to use a spell checker before posting.

Guys Guys Guys
Give the chap a break we all know how bloody unreliable some of the D3s on here have been with their blown turbos compressors, duff height sensors, dodgy electrics have we all forgotten that.
The D4 is simply carrying on the tradition of LR unreliability but why do we buy them cause we love them.
I have had lots of different makes and models as most of you probably have too and I love my D3 didnt think I ever would but what make and model of car did I have to rely on in this weather when my alternator packed in on my D3 my trusty old subaru Impreza with a set of Vredastein M/S tyres on.
I had a bit of a go at the LR guy and told him I had brought my reliable car to pick the alternator up with just to make sure I got back to my workshop so I could fit it to my D3.
I personally would never part with the money even If I could afford to buy a new D4 of which I cant because the depreciation is appalling the reliability is appalling and the customer service from some of the dealers is non exsistant, but some people just have bad cars full stop other pople on this forum may never have had any problems what so ever.
Oh and what did the service guy tell me about the new D4 when he noticed me looking at one not to touch it with a barge pole untill at least next year as they were having masses of electronic and software problems with no fixes from LR available as yet, and there answer to the problem reflash and hope it dosnt reoccur
MY answer to it
GO BUY A SUBARU IF YOU WANT RELIABILITY dont buy a new D4 just yet
PS is the D4 not just for softies anyway its begining to look too soft
cheers all
