'Low coolant' warning but fine upon manually checking - why?

My D3 has been showing the warning 'low coolant' for a couple of seconds from time to time followed by the little 'i' sign in the dash for a minute or so. Anyway on checking the coolant was on the lower line in the bottle so I have topped it up to the higher line (when cold) and the dash warning is still coming on as before. Any thoughts? Thanks

there was a problem with the sensor on early coolant resevoirs (float sticking) - there is a TSB somewhere - do a more detailed search and you should find it Thumbs Up

cost less than £20 to replace if i recall.

Cheers. I intentionally waited for a 2006MY car rather than a 2005MY one but I guess it could have this problem?

I also have a coolant warning message on my instrument pack, but I don't have a sensor. It came on after I upgrading the software on my instrument pack to have the time on there.
