England 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

I had my renewal last month and ended up staying with NFU but not before the small irritation i had as follows:

1. recived a letter at current address to inform me my cover for the Disco had been revoked due to not replying to two renewal notices...
2. I told the warminster office of the letter and the fact that i hadnt recived any renewal notice and was a bit put out by there lack of comunication.
3. They told me the cover had been stopped on th 2nd July (letter recived on th 12th) so i had been uninsured for some 10 days....
4. they said they would call back when they got to the bottom of the problem. i called them 2 hours later to find out what was happening as i needed to go out in the car and had no insurance.
5. " we have found out whats wrong" she said in an appologetic voice... we sent the renewal to your old address (not lived there since August LAST year) "we have reinstated your insurance as of the 2nd and reduced the renewal by 10% as a show of good will"
i have had to call them again last week to get them to resend the insurance schedual as hey sent it to ..... wait for it ..... my old address Shocked since moving i have had ten or so letters from them to my current address

good cover but run by local muppets.....

Just had my renewal notice from NFU. £442.75. Includes protected NCD, £150 excess (total), breakdown assistance and legal cover.

Searched around to see if I could find anything cheaper but nobody else can beat it. Closest was Kwik Fit Platinum at £450.17 but excess is £550 Shocked

I shall be sticking with NFU Thumbs Up
Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills Smile

Slightly different but weird in my experience.

My son tried to insure his Navara with NFU - his occupation put it higher with them than Lloyds.

He is a farm worker
He is sticking with Lloyds

beats the Censored out of me
 D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

Just took out a NFU policy today, zero excess, myself and SWMBO. I did find cheaper policies but they all wanted 200-500 excess and tracker fitted because vehicle value over £30k. None of the others covered off road use and also most importantly on a new car NFU will give you replacement value not trade.

They won't cover me (bad things happen in them cities) but the in-laws have had some awesome service on their claims. If you are likely to make a claim (!) go with them.

And they provide a new car if your car is written off up to being TWO years old, others I have seen are up to 1 year.

Just got my Disco 3 insured with NFU and they have insured it as private car not a light vehicle would be interest to hear from others if theres are insured the same as mine. Just in case I could try and get it a bit cheaper. Got a huge discount as have several properties and horse box with them.
