Kaymar Wheel Carrier

Just ordered a rear wheel carrier from Kaymar. I will also mount my HF radio aerial to the carrier. At present I will opt for a single tyre carrier. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which side is better to carry the spare on?.I thought left as the natural road camber will tend to keep the tyre from falling back onto the vehicle whilst changing a wheel. A Long-Ranger tank [110 litres] should give me a decent range in the desert as well.

Lex,

IMHO go with RHS (drivers side for us Aussies) because the number plate is on the LHS and it will be less to mount and wire on the spare wheel.

I don't think blocking the dip in the rear window makes much difference and if the RWC has a gas strut then it should stay open regardless of the road camber (does it have a strut?) .

Thanks for the input Chris; I forgot to consider the position of the no. plate. I shall now modify my order.
