Tailgate handle pin spin

Has anyone had this happen?
The brass theads in the plastic handle are corroded and so they spun out.
in this first pic, the yellow circle shows the brass threaded lug thats meant to be molded into the handle. It just spins so I couldn't get the handle off.

2nd pic the red circle shows where the threaded lug comes from.

I just forced them out and then used grips to hold the thread while undoing the torx screws.
Not a problem job, just thought I'd share in case anyone else has come accross this.

When finished

I had the exact same problem last week.

I ended up cutting the screw off and ordering some more screws from the stealers.
Luckily the screws cost £2.34 for a pack of 10.

I burst one of the three studs on mine [brass in the above pic] Evil or Very Mad
[the outside one as well !!!]
It was minus 5 when I did it, so didn't take it back off again to have a look.

Does anyone know if the studs can be got at and replaced ?

Dont know if you can get replacements, I'd have thought no though as it seems pretty much as it comes as a whole.
