Looking for some advice, lads. New D4 HSE - stopped to fill up with diesel last night - everything fine before, got back in - no touch screen, radio or phone. Thought it must be the fuse, and changed it this morning (took half an hour - you need the hands of a toddler to do it any quicker, I reckon) but old fuse looked ok, and still no power to the system. Any thoughts?

May not be relevant, but had the same with a D3, and it was found to be something to do with the dealer not properly taking it out of Transport Mode when doing the PDI

i have just had the same experience. no radio sat nav etc. cured by disconecting battery for about ten minutes then everthing back to normal apart from having to redo my preferences and resdetting date and clock. have only had the 4 for about three weeks. am i going to regret changing my 3 which gave me no bother. other issue i have is that the dealer fitted tow pack does not switch off the rear distance thing. im now :p

They probably forgot to activate the CCF file setting to tell the car the wiring was fitted.

In my case the LR Assitance guy sorted it by removing the red terminal from the battery; (he said NOT to touch them together, as I think was the case on older models) and it's been fine since.

sgl223 Were LRA happy to come out and do this for you??
I have had the exact same problem tonight.....! Left work got into the D4 and the radio did not work but everthing else was OK..
When I got home I turned off engine for 10 mins then re-started and NOTHING was displayed on the screen and I could turn nothing on!
Would be interesting to know WHY this has happend........
So you think If I call LRA they will come out and disconnect the terminal and will then be OK?
Would appriciate the advise ......Thanks!

Hi, yes they were fine about it. Initially i phoned the dealer, but they told me to phone LRA. Being new to Landrovers i assumed they were just for actual breakdowns, but obviously not. The service was superb; the guy even installed a couple of indicated updates to various software systems. In his opinion, the multimedia cpu was in the process of doing something when the power was switched off, leading it to crash. Don't worry, phone then as soon as you can.
