Advice needed, please. Sat Nav 'missing' buttons

Please help..... Big Cry

After my local 'specialist' has taken 5 days (yes 5 days !!) to fit my LR A Frame and 2 spots to my 56 D3 there were a myriad of faults, PDC not working, audible sound from indicator stalk gone etc etc etc etc etc Censored

Now, after yet another blazing row and a full refund i have my A frame and spots, but NO sat nav Confused

I have map displays, but when selecting Destination Input, I see many of the 'buttons' greyed out, cannot select a country, in fact, nothing !!

Anybody had the same ? Loose wire maybe ? Or have these clowns down yet more damage ??

Btw - if anybody is looking to use a LR 'Specialist' based in the Oxfordshire region, maybe think twice about the one that starts with a Mark and ends with a Smith...disgraceful service and I got told that the mechanic was now 'frightened' to work on my car in case he made it worse..... the beelzebub of Discos strikes back !

Have your tried removing the disk, running Nav, then reinserting the disc?

Hi Bingo.

Given that they were fitting spots, there is a chance that they neglected to disconnect the battery when wiring them up.

If this is so, they may have knocked out your software. See if you can Mr.Smith to reload it.

(I re-read your post and on second thoughts had to edit my reply)

After performing Winger's steps.... sounds like your satnav may think you are moving when you're not (?)

Worth looking at This Thread ~ you may be able to unlock it with the 1791 code - at least allowing you to use it until its fixed?

2Disco3ornot - if I could actually post the whole sorry saga on here without using words I don't want my little boy reading then it's even more unreal !!! That will teach me for trying to keep the business local and support the independents !!

Winger - no, I have not tried removing any disks at all but thanks for the suggestion, has this cleared similar faults when you have had them ?

Sounds as though they have induced a voltage 'spike' somehow - maybe a Hard Reset would help ...
