My D3 had it's 30K service yeasterday at Guy Salmon, Thames Ditton. The car went in at 9am and was told I would have it back by 3pm, enabling me to pick my little one up from school. I also sent a list with the car saying not to put a top up bottle of oil in as I had plenty and to sort out my drivers seat and squeely EPB. At 10-30am I got the usual call from the service department saying it needed new wipers front and rear, at a cost of 75 quid. Only had it's first MOT done a week prior to that and they were fine.
3pm comes and go's still no phone call. I telephoned their service department and the guy said oh I was just going to call you. He said the car is just going through the wash and it will be returned The cost of the 30K service was 634 quid absolute daylight robbery, never guess what they put a 1 litre bottle of oil in the car at a cost of 13 quid as well. 3-30 no car, 3-40 phone call from the little ones school where are you. Immediately phone up guy Salmon again, who said it is on it's way.3-50 vehicle turns up with a sheepish driver appologising over his boot tops. I feel the price of the service was way over the top, the EPB still squeels and the seat still makes a horrible noise.
I told the guy in the service department I would never use or recommend Guy Salmon again. Doe's anyone know if 10forcash comes down south as I will use him for the next service. Be warned steer clear from these robbers.

I wasn't just booked it in, but in all honesty I didn't expect that and they say they ajusted the seat and EPB free of charge.

Sounds pricey to me.Just had the 2 year 30K service carried out by Lancaster Welwyn £390.Vehicle came back washed and vacced.
I have always requested a phone call before any parts that I have to pay for over and above the quoted service price are fitted.Your window wipers are a prime example.To buy and fit your self £25 ish.
Perhaps I should have posted this as a new post in dealership feedback

I use Thames Ditton all the time and have never had any problems with their service..... but with servicing I always ask them to price match with a dealer outside of the M25 and this is agreed beforehand. I paid around £360 for my 3rd service on my last D3 just over a year ago ...and even recently they price matched against Lancaster's Reading. I've not used their collect and drop off service so I can't comment.
Shame really, if you look back through this section you will see my feedback has always been positive. If they know you are on the ball (and by saying 'they' I mean all dealers) then they are less likely to appear to fleece you.

Thanks for the feedback DG and Grandad, will certainly check prices and the price match sounds good DG. Sorry this has taken so long to reply but the system has not been letting me log in.
