Amber engine light on - 07 disco 3
I recentley bought a 07 discovery 3 and have had it now for 3 weeks and i started it today and the amber engine light came on, i checked the manual and it refered to petrol engines, can any one help me out what it could be, the car is still driving normal and no smoke from the exhaust, Is it ok to drive and also how costly it would be to rectify. cheers

Yep sounds like EGRs, one of the numerous D3 parts that aren't built to last more than a few years.

I was being optimistic! Mind you re EGRs only had one of the two go on each car, mine at just before 3 years and SWMBO's just after 4 years.
No idea re costs as mind done on original warrty, SWMBO's c/o Tesco.
