Side bars - any recomendations? |
|
Hi
We want to add sidebars, ideally tubular with flat areas for the step, rather than the LR long flat step.
Anyone fitted tubular bars, or can point me toward any?

Well there was "ONCE UPON A TIME", a decent company that came up with some sliders at a decent price, but NOT available on the Forum......................................
But you can contact this guy

Pete: I had the same problem a few months ago. I had side steps on a Freelander 2, but wanted side and door sill protection for offroad use. I was well-aware that I might have to choose between protection or ease of access and was aware that the Land Rover and eBay-sold protection tubes are cosmetic.
I ended up getting a set of sliders from Ray (RLD). They don't have flat bits to stand on, but they're fairly close-fitting and I've not had any issue with brushing against them getting in or out. In fact, the D4 with its Access Mode is easier to get in and out of than the FL2.

Neil,
Sorry to appear dim, but what search term did you use on giggle, I've tried it but am only seeing the flat LF ones!
Highlandcow,
Can you post a couple of shots of your D4 with sliders, would be interesting to see how they look fitted.
Cheers

try a search with +tree +sliders +d3 - that should give you various results for side protection tubes. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
