She Breathes Fresh Air!

Well what a day I had yesterday the bad point was I felt sick all day at work and was in bed by 7.00pm.

The plus points were I ordered a BellAuto blanking kit last week due to having a number of increasing flat spots below 2000 rpm and prior to this TLF and said I had some early EGR indicators showing in January on the diagnostic tool. Thanks to the forum I got chatting to another member gtrhaggart and mentioned I had ordered the kit and wondered if he knew how easy it was to fit? To my delight he said he was about to fit his own blanking kit and would let me know how hard it was. Well after getting a message saying 30 minute job, we spoke again and it turned out he has his own garage 6 miles from my work and his parents live in the same village as me, excellent news! So yesterday I cheated and got gavin / gtrhaggart to kindly fit me blanking kit and oh what a difference. I know some say the kit does nothing to performance but my disco now breathes fresh air and is loads quicker Smile Very Happy So happy days Smile Thumbs Up

I would like to thank...

BellAutos for the kit and fast postage Thumbs Up
Gavin / gtrhaggart for kindly helping fit the kit and giving me friendly advise, oh and inflating my tyres! Thumbs Up

I also have a bone to pick with Pete at BellAutos... Gavin took me out in his Disco3 Auto which has K&N / Blanking Kit / oh and your Tuning Kit! It goes like a rocket, I was not expecting to be gripping the seat with my butt cheeks! I now know what you guys mean by permagrin Smile Very Happy Oh dear god its quick ! If anyone wants a fast Auto Disco3 I thoroughly recommend Petes blanking and tuning kit, awesome!

Geoff

Basically the blanking kit has improve my acceleration. Due to my EGR valves starting to fail i had flat spots on acceleration upto 2000 rpm and she felt very sluggish. Now all my acceleration is smooth and she pulls very well. It must be all that fresh air! Thumbs Up

I wouldn't know as i am one is the least mechanically minded forum members. Ask pete at BellAutos or gtrhaggart and ask him how his goes?

What are the downsides of having the EGR blanking kit Question

Would it affect emmissions and hence MOT failures Question

no real drawback to egr blank on pre early tdv6, i believe later ones are different. Emissions not an issue for mot, just put mine in and it didnt register on the smoke meter.

Gents, my 05 disco has just started playing up this morning. Very flat and slow pick up up to 2000-2500 rpm, in all gears. I am presuming that this will be the EGR valves from reading several threads on the forum??? Are these the same symptoms you experienced please? The car has only done 35k Exclamation
