I had a big service carried out by Beadles in Jan 09. There was lots of issues with their work at the time including tool left under the bonnet, it over filled with oil (and told "they use a bit of oil so it would be ok" ) and them unable to diagnose it continually breaking down within a mile of it leaving the dealership.
This years service I had learnt my leason and had the brilliant 10forCash do it. I mentioned a brief squeaking noise from the belts occassionally when turning the engine off. What he found was amazing.
The fan belt had been put on wrong, causing the inside edge of it to rub against the alternator housing and causing the tensioner spring to bend over time as the belt was not running true. It wouldn't have been long before the fan belt snapped, possibly causing substantial damage to the engine and definately causing a break down.
Because the service was done just outside the 12 month warranty, Beadles didn't want to know.
I am not sure which mechanic Beadles had do my job but you better hope he doesn't work on your vehicle because these were all basic fundamental and yet potentially dangerous mistakes.

John,
As grzesiul mentioned 10forCash is mobile and uses either his own D3 or more lately his Freelander2.
It is amazing the tools and spare parts he has on board.
He is highly recommended.
