Parts should arrive tomorrow so expecting it fixed by Thursday.
Getting a bit bored of narbonne, there are only so many times you can walk around narbonne centre
some really nice restaurants though
Is the mistral allready picking up? Narbonne/Gruisan plage is an ideal place to take a windsurf/kitesurf course......
Otherwise take a vineyard tour. Some really nice ones out there. Maybe a couple of bottles make you forget your D3 troubles.CLUB ILLEGAL CAR WASHERS

Would love to, but still sat in hotel reception waiting for hire car. All they find is a focus size car that is way too small for all our stuff. And places are closing 1200 - 1400 for lunch

All, thanks for your help / info
Got back in UK last Sunday but havnt had much time to give update.
LR assistance were excellant. They paid for our hotel, liased with the Garage, hotel etc and managed to get us a hire car to complete the rest of our holiday.
However, we didnt need it in the end. After getting stranded in Narbonne on the Sunday, we eventually got the D3 back from the Dealers on the Friday Evening - after being liberated of 1600 Euros by the dealer. There is an entire A4 page of part nos - the highest value part was only 188 Euros !!.
left Beziere at 20:00 , drove through the night and arrived in Murcia at 08:00 on Saturday morning.
Sorry for not calling in to see you PaulP - but I guessed that I wouldnt have been welcome at 3 o'clock in the morning (or whatever time it was !!).
Holiday was great and car performed very well with all the camping stuff etc - although I kept expecting to see a Christmas tree of warning light come up on the dash at any time - simply because I was convinced the Gods were against me !!
Big thanks to The Large One for calling me during my time in Narbonne to discuss what the hell a 1600 Euro bill could consist of
Much appreciated
and thanks to all our French friends who help me come to terms with the fact that parts cost a lot more in France and that the dealer wasnt trying to stich me up.
Just need to order a spare rear wheel bearing from TLO and get that changed asap before the LHS one goes.Duncan

Excellant
Will be doing the same trip next year, so hopefully we can meet up then. I'll get the other wheel bearing repalced before then, so at least thats one potential problem off the list

Duncan - chop the ear into cubes, throw into the fryer until crisp then cover in salt and pepper...lovely (they call it "moro"...but I've probably spelled it wrong...). One of my favourite tapas. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
