Time for a new Disco!!!
It's that time again! For years I have been in company car schemes but now I want to drop-out and manage the "acquisition" myself. In the past I have got good deals from import companies but these companies seem to have dwindled. I even got a "one-off" deal from a dealer who matched an internet deal but don't see that happening again.
So, my question is, what's the latest thinking for getting the best discounts? Anyone done spectacularly well and want to share their secret?

I'm off to check out some LR4's this weekend. I'll let you know what worked for me (if things go well)

You could try the "brokers" like Motorlogix. They earn their money by sourcing the biggest discount from the LR dealer network that they can find. As they are recognised by many dealers as "fleet" business they can access discounts that individuals might not be able to. It surprised me what discounts they can turn up but this varies depending on the state of the market at the time. Just checked and they are showing about an 8% discount on list at the moment. You are still a customer of the supplying dealer (although they could be anywhere in the country), and pay a finders fee to the broker. You can negotiate your own trade in deal and/or finance with the dealer or elsewhere.Disco 4 TDV6HSE

A thought if you have a company scheme. My company, like most outsources its scheme to a mgmt co. For me, this mgmt co sorted me out a great deal (over 10% discount on price plus a finance deal better than i could get anywhere). Plus they sorted out what I wanted immediately while two main dealers never really got to grips with the idea that I wanted to give them well over £40k.
So if you have access to a personal finance scheme through your company. Might at least be worth checking out.

Anyone had experience of Buyacar? They are offering a good discount (8%) on a HSE

Wow that's a seriously good deal and much better than last time I looked. My broker has been telling me that LR were pulling all business discounts!

Mmm I'd never heard of them, it would've have cost me over 4k less and they would give me 13,710 for my Freelander 2. Which would add a further £710 to the saving as I'm getting 13K from the Stealer.
But, as I'm picking it up tomorrow it doesn't bother me at the moment.
