Sound when setting alarm when a door open

With my D4, if I try to set the alarm with a door not closed properly it emits what I can only describe as a squeak ~ hardly audible at times and could be easy to walk away thinking that the car is locked and alarm is set.

With my old D3 if I did the same, the horn sounded which could not be missed.

Is this pitiful mouse like sound normal on the D4?

Actually, I prefer the new squeak rather than the elephant trumpet of the horn that I had with the Freelander 2 because it isn't intrusive for the neighbours late at night.

I left my D4 recently for an hour or so (fortunately somewhere safe!) and when I came back I couldn't find the keys. Cue panic - but where had I left them? In the car of course. It wasn't locked, and I had missed the squeek to tell me the key fob was in the vehicle. Embarassed Lucky wasn't nicked, though.

Hmm... Such sound on my D4, LR4 US model actualy, is more of a double honking then a squeak. May be there is a difference between US and UK models or something is not right with your car? It's definitely a sound no one can miss. I could record the sound and post it up here if anyone is interested in.
