Gotta keep out of trouble somehow. The UK government has given me enough money to buy a 911 (over three years) so who am I not to do a little in return!

PS I'm normally home by 4pm so scoff is a bit of a joint effort (only the cook is allowed the vino prior to food!). No "Dinner's ready" calls from accross the galaxy! Rolling Eyes

Nicknick, if you're trying to wind people up (again), you're really going to have to do better than that Rolling Eyes , we have standards round here ya know!

Better still, come back when your mentality catches up with your biology (I'm assuming here that you are over 14 and haven't been institutionalised for most of your puberty)

At the risk of further inflaming the 'debate' (oops - too late!), I do think NickNick has a valid point.

I think the D3 as a car is absolutely fantastic. Interior is the best I have ever seen in any vehicle, and just what we need for our growing family. The fact that it also is a LR, has 4 wheel drive, TR, air suspension, heritage, excellent forum sites (!), etc all helps. For us, the primary function is transport of our family and the D3 gives us that. Everything else is a bonus; who wouldn't want high commanding driver view, diesel economy, excellent ground clearance, 4 wheel drive if it came with the package?

I'm not against the D3 as a 4x4 by any means: I used to run an early 90 and loved it to bits. It wasn't suitable as a reliable, family-friendly, high mileage commute car so eventually was sold in favour of a solid people carrier.
To me, the D3 offers everything we need now, along with the best things from those '90' days too.
I'm sure there are plenty of D3 owners quite happy never to use any of the 4x4 features of the car, who would be equally well-served by a 2wd Discovery. This site attracts mainly 'hard core' D3 users so I wouldn't be surprised that the general sentiment on this forum veers towards the focus on off-road ability.

I am a little disappointed in the 'open season' NickNick taunting that is now evident on this thread. So far, all the main forum users have exercised grown up common sense when the odd thread has become a little heated, and (if as you assert NN is trolling) then you are rising to the bait rather too eagerly.

Just my thoughts - no malice or trolling intended!
