Welcome Bailey!! Is it remapped, some remaps result on smoke on full throttle. Any loss of power or surging at 2000rpm?

Well I would have said intercooler hose as my first thought, but you've replaced that.

Black smoke generally means too much diesel not enough air, Is your intercooler ok, not full of crap?

Could possibly be the turbo as well but you say it's not down on power. I think the best thing to do is to see if you have any fault codes.

Dont think it has had a remap - how could i tell if it has been done?

Yes i would say it surges a bit at around 2000 rpm.

Also been and had a new compressor fitted so i would have thought dealer would mention any fault codes if they were there?

Intercooler look clear.

Check the intercooler for splits. Top row, inner radiator edge.

Morning

Have had look this morning and right side middle to top has what looks like oil coming from somewhere but cant see fully as the bumper is in the way - i take it that would be a split of some sort.

Is there a hose on that side also or is it likely to be intercooler or anything else?

How easy is it to replace? - any guides?

Thanks for the input

See if you can remove the front lower trim. The one in front of the main sump guard. This normally let's you see the rear engine side of the cooler a little better.

Ok have done that and can see loads of black oil every where coming from somewhere on intercooler but hard to see where as it is pretty well covered.

Thumbs Up this sounds suspect. From the ones I've found it's been top row of the cooler.
As you see depending on the oil about it can be hard to see.

It may help if you start the car and hover your hand over the cooler and you may feel air coming out.

If needed the viscus fan can be held still with your other hand while the engine is running.

Keep digging I recon you are close to your answer.

Pete, is there a quick way to replace the intercooler rad or does it have to be done as described in GTR? If anyone has found a quicker way it's more than likely you Bow down Thumbs Up

The easiest way I think is front bumper off and teeze it pug from below the water radiator
