I have an 07 plate D3, done nearly 1500 miles on Shell fuel saver, and no problems whatsoever. Sounds like an EGR problem to me.

Loads of booting undertaken, it's called overtaking Tesco wagons on the A9 between Perth & Aviemore (the land that dual carriageways/motorways forgot). Still had Turbos go and EGRs fail. My folks don't know what booting is and have had no problems at all! They're Land Rovers, you're not supposed to understand their weird ways!

Is it possible to now say that Shell diesel was not the cause of the problem?
At the time it looked like a classic EGR problem.

Never had a problem with shell fuel , always use the stuff
I do have a sluggish take off though , egr's blanked , think it's the norm but a remap will cure
