Ive got the rear pad squeel that is now starting to me right off. I know its been said to change the pads, but my question is what to, ones from a motor factor or from Land rover ???
I wasnt sure to change because pads look new but its so annoying now i will try a new set.
Cheers

Change to OEM LR Parts, yours is a 2005 MY, and is most likely still on original Pads, New OEM are different shaped friction material, and eliminates the Squeak Squeak Squeak Squeak Squeak Squeak Squeak Squeak

Sounds more like a EPB squeal. Get it cleaned and adjusted quickly. If you leave it too long you can end up shagging the actuator which isn't cheap.
If you're not sure then check out Bodsy's brake bible (I think it can be downloaded from here) D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Modified pads were introduced to prevent the squeak as per first reply!

I have been getting a terrible squeel for about 3 weeks and thought it was the brakes. Turned out to be the wheel bearing was fecked!

Had new EPB actuator and shoes changed 3 times in the last 6 weeks (long story) last one changed 10 days ago and the squeek has been there since before the first of the 3 changes. Was thinking its the bearing but they said it was ok. Pads look almost new.

If the pads look like new, and you have also had all the rear EPB work, then it could just be a sticking caliper on the rear.

The only thing is i dont know what pads were fitted so maybe a set from Land rover may cure it, the squeal stops if i touch the brakes and it seems to be more noticable at low speeds VW Touareg 3.0 Altitude

Rob, these are exactly the symptoms I had, till I changed the rear pads for the New type OEM.....tis confusing, but for the sake of £40 why not just change them.
