Physical difference between 210bhp and 245bhp models |
|
I've recently taken delivery of a new D4 that was ordered as a SDV6 (245bhp) but after driving it away from the dealers I suspected that it was the 210bhp variant. After reading the ECU this was confirmed in one of the drop down menus, it is showing as a 156Kw version(210bhp) instead of 180Kw(245bhp). Armed with this information I returned immediately to the dealers and asked them to investigate. LR technical department apparently doesn't work past 12pm on Fridays so the dealer told me he would get an answer on Monday. I rejected the car there and then but I didn't have a car to drive away in so they agreed and noted my intention to the reject the car but let me drive home in it. So back to the title, how do I tell if it is the 245bhp version apart from using a rolling road? And why can't IDS tell what version of 3.0l V6 you have. Club Exped trailer

I have an SDV6 Commercial on order so will be interested to see how this progresses...
AFAIK there is a different manifold on the 245BHP version as I was told this was why it was a factory option rather than a post delivery 'chipping' potential change. However, I am sorry to say that I don't know how to determine which is which...
All the best with your campaign.

Lee ..doesn't the 210kw version retain the title of TDV6 ? I thought SDV6 was for 245 What badging do you have?
Having read TOPIx there doesn't seem to be any difference other than this statement
Quote:The engine is available in two power output forms. The power difference is achieved by changes to the engine calibration within the ECM (engine control module) and other vehicle control modules.
• NOTE: It is not possible to re-configure a lower power output engine to the higher output specification.
Reading the last note... quite why you wouldn't be able to reconfigure isn't clear, as when reading the engine component breakdown there is no distinction of differing components 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Dick
That's what first aroused my suspiction, it is badged TDV6 on the rear. I pointed this out within 30 seconds of seeing the vehicle. I challenged the sales guy about it who then went away and printed of the order form and the build sheet, he was adamant that it was a mid-badged vehicle and the paper work was correct. Is there a Chassis number difference between 210 and 245 versions? I would have assumed so... Bodsys Brake Bible

Just to add the ECU has been interrogated using the MSV-2 Faultmate by Buellbeast. He has two other D4 CCF's both indicating 180Kw in the drop down menus. Club Exped trailer
