Hello,
I have just bought a D3 SE 05 Reg and am very pleased with it, Would like to know and sorry if it has already been discussed but what is the best bluetooth car kit to get that is compatable with the Iphone 4, I have noticed on the controls where the radio is that there is a phone button but when i press it it says no phone connected, Is there a way then to connect a phone without a carkit,
I am also interested in any other updates ie satnav 3flash indicator etc that can be done and as i ravel leeds to london could meet up en route,
Sorry this is only my 2nd post but when i did introduce myself i did say i would be picking peoples brains to get the best out of the D3
regards
chris

The Phone Button on the Entertainment is Standard, for you to have Bluetooth you need to have the Green and Red phone buttons on the right side of the steering wheel....
However, all is not lost as you can still get a Parrot hands free kit to fit direct into the D3 that does the same job. Loads of different models to choose from depending on what you require from it.

You can get these supplied/fitted by many installers in the yellow pages, or do it how I did so..

Halfords are doing the top parrot kit for £200 fitted which seems a pretty good deal and I am planning to get this done in the next week or so. You do have to pay for the required fitting cable on top but I haven't found anywhere cheaper yet.

What parrot model is that please, I have been given a number of a mobile fitter from the landrover dealers where i bought the disco from, might ask him how much for the top spec one that you are on about, hopefully he might do me a discount as the mrs has just bought a 57 plate freelander 2 that needs some sort of car kit as well so might get some form of discount,

Phoned the independant guy up and mmmmmm, He said because i have Iphone4 the 9200 parrot was no good as it would not play my music on the Iphone because i have the amp in the disco and unless apple have brought out a pre amp lead it will not work . When i told him the freelander 2 was standard radio/cd and no iphone just plane Nokia with no music stored he said we should both get a parrot 3100 as they are bomb proof and then for me get a 3.5jack to plug my Iphone in to play music, He said he would come to me (only 20miles away) fit both 3100's and take £300 of my hard earned money, i said would think about it and look into the 3100, but DO NOT GET THE 9200 OR THE BURY were his final words
Must admit the bury does look nice and slick

Hi All
Halfords wont fit the parrot kit in the discovery free as there is to much work to get done if they do decide to fit it it will be done by a contractor who will fit it for them as most of them dont have a clue.
I personally wouldnt let them touch it.
If theres anything you need to ask about the parrot systems then maybe I can help I am a registered certfied parrot installer
cheers

All the Halfords installs are done by a contractor is the way it was told to me. The reason you were told to avoid the 9200 is because its not a straight forward install if you have an amplifier fitted.

Halfords fitted my Parrot MKI9200 kit 5 weeks ago for £192 which included the wiring connection bits. They did a brilliant job in about 2 hours and everything works perfectly. I also run an IPhone 4 off it with no problems.
The one small niggle is where to put the controller - i didn't like it on the steering wheel, but that's just my preference. Currently it floats free in the car so I am at the mercy of the kids music choice and there is only so much Lady Gaga a sane man can take!
Highly recommended.

Hi Moo
Does your Disco have the harmon kardon system or the standard radio/cd in as speaking with mike on here it is a lot more difficult to fit,
Went down to local halfords today to have a look at the 9200 and they initially said the 9200 is not compatble with Iphone4, to which i said you had just got one fitted and a person i know who is a seller of them states they are, we went to his computer gave the reg of my vehicle and he said yes we can do it and i just have to buy a £24 lead and it will take an hour to fit

The 9200 is a great piece of kit and I fitted mine myself to my HSE with HK premium audio.
As has been suggested there are people on here that have taken all the hard work out of it and posted instructions on how to do it, which I ended up following to the letter and got exactly what I wanted.
Do a search, all the wiring instructions are there.
As has already also been said the proffesionals shy away from fitting it with the HK audio.
Siting the screen and controller can be a difficult decision.
I ended up with the screen behind the steering wheel just to the left of the clocks so I view it through the wheel.
I tried the controller on the steering wheel but hated it as I kept catching it with my hand, so ended up sticking it down to the small panel just behind the parking brake lever so I can reach down and use it with my left hand.
The main Blue box is stuffed down behind the 'H' trim below the drivers side air vent.
Nasher. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

ebygum32,
My Disco has the HK stereo system. The Parrot is fitted in exactly the same way as Nasher has mentioned and works a treat.
I have tended to leave my IPod connected to it in the top glove box and just bluetooth the IPhone. There are 3 connectors with it so that you can plug anything into it - USB, Jack plug and IPod connector.
I left the car with Halfords for 2 hours and when I came back it was done, so it might have taken less time. I couldn't fault service or knowledge and they left the car clean and tidy. Perhaps I was just lucky.
