Suspension lift kit - group buy? |
|
After my recent trip to Botswana, where the D3 threatened to lower everytime I exceeded the 40km limit, I decided that a suspension lift kit would be a useful toy to invest in.
I have come across the Johnson Rods lift kit which looks like a quality product. http://www.johnsonrods.com
The kit lifts the D3's suspension by 62.5mm which means normal height is increased to around 240mm and off road height to 300mm.
The kit is manufactured in the US but I see that it has been shipped to SA. Any Africa forum member come accross this product?
Anyone interested in a group buy? The cost is around $125 (R1000) exluding shipping.

Guys before you charge off and spend money check these out from our very own Discoeast (Koos) . Still a prototype , but they are adjustable . I will be testing them soon
(I've no commercial interest in this , just seems like a good idea)

Just think Koos's are nicer because they are adjustable in place . Fitting them tomorrow - watch this space

What is the affect of an increase in weight of the connector rod on the sensor life (wear) ?

Sensor carrys no weight, just moves the sensor arm as the
suspension moves, the weight is carried by the top mount, and
it's made of ali. Heine and I had this conversation a while back
when the guys fitted modifyed LR rods. And one of our USA
members posted the same site hls found and got me thinking.
And started to play around with the idea, well aware the guys
down under were making head way with a better electronic version.
It was more just " keep the brain active and idle hands busy
excercise " than anything else. If it can help others, so be it. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
