FS: Hitachi 42" Plasma TV (42PD5200)

Hi

I'm selling some of my hifi equipment and the first thing to go will be my Hitachi 42" plasma tv. This is a great screen and was one of the best of its generation. It can still deliver a far better picture than a lot of the newer boxes.

There is a review online: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-vis...435/review

The screen is in excellent condition, there are no burned in images as can happen on some plasma screens as this model features a white screen ‘conditioning’ mode that has been regularly used to remove any residual images.

The screen specifications are as follows:

42 inch 720p and 1080i compatible screen
1x DVI connection
2x Component (reg-green-blue) connections
1x 15 pin PC compatible VGA connection
1x SCART connection
1x S-Video connection
1x TV aerial connection

The DVI connection will accept an input from a PC and as DVI is pin compatible with modern HDMI connections any up to date kit can be connected such as PlayStation 3, Sky HD, Xbox 360 or Blu-Ray players. I will include a DVI to HDMI connector that I have used to display Sky HD on the box. The screen also comes with detachable speakers that I have rarely used (I almost always used an amp for audio).

Due to the large size of this item I’m afraid I cannot post it and can therefore any buyer will need to pick the television up from Wiltshire, although we may be able to arrange to meet somewhere instead.

I'm looking for around £250 for the Plasma TV and will make a site donation once it sells. I also have an unused original Hitachi wall mount bracket that am asking £40 for.

[I'm also selling my Arcam equipment, M&K speakers, B&W speakers and M&K Subwoofer if anyone's interested!]

Thanks
Mark

Quite a list! The FMJ kit was well-received when it came out.
Like old Land Rovers, the B&W speakers come as Series- do you know whether yours are S1, 2 or 3? Detail of the finish (ash, black etc) is also useful for those of us who have to get such items passed by the House Committee (decoration & furnishings division).
Oh, and some guidance as to what price you'd like to achieve might draw out some lurkers; I'm guessing you'd rather sell some items together.
Ta!

Good points, well made! Smile

The B&W speakers are the Series 1 version - the originals! They come in the black finish and I have a choice of Apollo or Atacama very heavy black stands that we could probably come to an arrangement over.

The M&K surround speakers are finished in Titanium, that's silver or grey to everyone else on the planet! The M&K subwoofer is finished in black and the Arcam boxes are all in silver.

In terms of price, I'm still working through eBay to try and guesstimate what their value is. It's probably easiest if I update the list with a starting price when I've finished doing that, although I'm more than willing to hear any offers to save me having to do the maths! If they don't sell on here then I'll begin the fun of taking pictures and listing them on eBay.

Hope that helps!

OK, here are some rough figures for the "Buy it Now" price when they go on eBay that I've worked out based on what similar stuff has been sold for. If you're interested in anything then drop me a PM and we can talk! Thumbs Up

Arcam FMJ P25 3 Channel Amp (Silver) - £350
Arcam FMJ P25 3 Channel Amp (Silver) - £350
Arcam FMJ P25 2 Channel Amp (Silver) - £250
Arcam AVP 700 Audio Visual Pre Amp Processor (Silver) - £750
Arcam FMJ DV29 DVD Player (Silver) - £200
M&K K17 Speakers (x3) (Titanium) - £450
M&K K4 Tri Pole Surround Speakers (x2) (Titanium) - £250
M&K MX7000SF Subwoofer (Black) - £450
B&W DM602 Speakers (x2) (Black) - £90
B&W CC6 Centre Speaker (Black) - £70

All the M&K stuff will be listed on eBay tonight. The rest will follow during the week.

(I've got the original boxes for the M&K K-17s & the subwoofer and most of the Arcam stuff. I don't have any for the B&W speakers though).
