I did this to my Defner - not sure it made a lot of difference, though the turbo probably spooled up quicker.

Does it make a lot of difference and where do you get the de-cat pipes from?

There are differences on the D3 nothing massive but it is there. Makes it slightly more low down nosier. Worth it for the cost of one also eliminates the CAT actually going at some point. I got mine for Alive tuning but Pete at Bell Autos does one too. Im also sure there are others out there Thumbs Up

Thanks Thumbs Up

in theory at least mpg should be better - but I guess it would need to be returned to get the full benefit.

A friend of mine is a green councillor and doesn't like cats at all. He Defner doesn't have one. Says that unless there are overriding environment reasons (Like LA), then they are of no benefit as the natural process does everything a cat does, just not so quickly Thumbs Up

Thanks. I'm reassured.

The reason for the question is that its in next week with Allisport for a 90k service, new inter-cooler, remap and De CAT. I just wasn't sure about the De Cat.

I fitted one a couple of weeks ago to my other D3 and it pulled a good 500rpm lower down. I will be fitting one next week to my latest D3 Thumbs Up

I have a prototype TDV6 decat pipe up for grabs, made from 304 grade stainles steel, which has a small silencer built into it, to help prevent booming.
