Hi mac,
Yep I'm guilty of the blue FBH led, and got pulled today
Mr plod however was quite impressed with the D3' s performance thru an undriven road, and just politely advised me to move the light, so I have removed it, shame but not worth the hassle!

You can run the same cable through the hidden grommit by the Servo, that will bring the feed from the Webasto near to you, just get a small LED off ebay and jobs done

Is that the same grommet you used to get your split charge power cables thru? ie drivers side of the engine bay?

Sure is
or you can force the cables through the Main Fuse Box loom grommit, but its easier in the pic, plus the cables are in the drivers side

Right, but medics/Doctors have NO exception to the highway code and have to stay to the speed limits..Having looked into my install before commencing I was told all is ok cos a green light gives no preference on the road system

That's useful to know.
Still think you ought to play safe and use the vet story though.

Why does the LED come on when the FBH is fired by the D3?
Isn't it connected to the OUT pin of the Webasto timer and therefore only comes on when it is fired by the timer (or the RF/GSM remote)?
Also I don't understand why you'd want a LED hidden in the front grill to show that the FBH is active? As you can only see it from the front of the car (which, from the photos, means that you wouldn't see it from your house), wouldn't it be better to just have it inside the D3 (on the top of the dash for example) so that it can be seen from any direction?2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

green light use
Hi All
I drive for the Out of hours service and we have marked cars with green lights and you are bang on Mac with the legislation but it is the misuse of green lights that cause us a great headache as people disregard them and we cant get to patients who deperately need our asistance because they wont get out of our way.
I would urge people not to unecessarily use any light to the front of their vehicle that people could confuse as either an emergency vehicle or a doctor on call because it could one day be amember of your family that we are asisting and some clown holds us up.
It is courtesy that people move over when we have the greens on but they dont have to move over for any emergeny service vehicle it is just courtesy that we all do as some of realise it may be us who needs them next
cheers
