Help, throttle does not work properly

Hello,

This is my 1st post and i hope someone can help me out.
Got into the car tonight started it up and the throttle seems to be not connected to the engine.
sometimes it does nothing even when fully depressed, then it will slowly start to pull away then all of a sudden it will fly off as if you have floored it.
when driving the engine does not respond to the throttle position.

Help please need it for work tomorrw.

David.

Hi, after having been to the shop for multiple faults due to clogged drainage issue..... Finally all faults where solved mostly connections and reprograming. Now the lr3 doesn't want to go pass 70 kph but no fault came out. The engine is great and transmission shifts well. Can anyone suggest any possible solution to this? The shop is still experimenting on it since it's the first time they have experienced it. Btw the shop is the land rover shop here in Manila, Philippines.

Check your Turbo actuator i assume its a diesel you have
plenty of stuff on here if you search for turbo actuator faults if they are a LR dealer though surely they have got the fault codes ??
if you have can get the codes advice from forum could be more specific rather than poke and hope Thumbs Up

Actually it's petrol. My sense is the connectors of the wire harness to the sensors to the transmission. I had the guys take a look at that first. They are all in a quandary on why there are no faults showing and yet the thing is on limp mode... Had the ithing reset to be sure none of the old faults are still in the memory but no luck... I am running out of option, maybe you guys can make any other suggestions.

There is a controller on the accelerator pedal, this in turn operates the butterfly in the throttle control.
I would remove the plastic housing coming from the air box (MAF sensor in this pipe) and then with ignition on but engine not running and see if butterfly opens fully. This butterfly is known to get "gunged up" and may need cleaning. It is also good to clean MAF sensor as well. If it works okay then check fuel pressure - schrader valve

Ar there any issues by removing the butterfly valve with not blanked egr's???
I would not remove the servo motor that turns the butterfly...

So i think the air intake will be open 100% always??

That butterfly valve is what controls the engine speed - removing totally is not an option

Don't think so or, is a Diesel engine...

The butterfly valve chokes the inlet from air filter to inlet manifold for getting the recirculation of exhaust gassen in to the inlet manifold...

What i would think and try to do is fully open air flow at all times by removing it (and then blank the egr valves later on when software can be done at the end of this month...)

?no?

VEHICLE:
LR3 Discovery - MY2007 - TDV6 2.7L diesel
unblanked egr's

Hi Discovery Brasil,

I have stll the same with my LR3 2007... is it also a bit as if the special program of the TR is in grass gavel snow???

After a while, everything seems normal and car is driving normal with full power...

I already cleaned the MAF, replaced the MAP with a new one and so on.
I also drove the car with butterfly valve open and butterfly motor disconected from valve with only the electrics connected...
Sympton was stil there, so i asume its not directly a egr problem also because engine had full air supply...

I'm also looking for a solution... maybe we can keep in touch and follow up each other
Regards Glenn
