Hi dannog,
I imagine that you are still going to be using tubeless tyres. If so, it is recommended that you DO NOT fit tubes.

Wot he said.
Why would you want tubes when tubeless are so easy to repair. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

For stakes you should be most likely to repair the tyre with a plug or multiple plugs.

Carry a second tyre carcase if required, just make sure someone in your group has tyre levers, bead breakers and a decent compressor. 2014 SDV6 HSE White, LLAMS Height Controller, Tinted Glass, Tuff Ant Sliders and 18" steel wheels, Safari Snorkel, Rhino Rack Platform, ARB Air Compressor, Custom Drawer and storage unit -http://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64 UHF CB, 4x4 Intellegence RWC, 120ltr Long range tank, Rock Sliders and Compressor protection plate Beanie grill, De Tango.

Thanks for the suggestions. Over Christmas I returned to my disco to find someone had put a knife through the side wall of the front tyre and a nail in the rear. I was totally dumbfounded as to why someone would do this.
Anyway, I removed the nail and had it repaired but the knife went through the sidewall of the tyre and no one will repair that for me. I was hoping set it up as a spare with an inner tube rather than spend $400 on a replacement.
The knife hole is only 10mm long (just the width of the blade) so I was hoping this might be OK.

Hi dannog,
Sorry about your situation.
Thinking back to my father, with tubed tyres on his vehicles. With tyre damage, he'd make a sleeve from a ground down section of an old tyre, and fit it to cover the damage. He'd then repair the tube (does anyone remember the vulcanising patches?) and refit it.
Tubeless tyres, unlike tubed ones, are NOT smooth in the interior. This means that tubes tend to suffer friction and overheat before failing in short order.
If I was you I'd want a spare that I could rely on, hence new tyre for me.

I had a car which had a inner tube fitted before I bought it. It failed on the motorway at 70mph due to over heating.
Also apparantly the profile of some tyres is not suitable for tubes due to height/width.
For a 10mm cut you might be able to get a major tyre repair done.

Try truck tyre repairers.
I got one repaired at Owen tyres in Brookvale when Bob Jane tried to get me to guy a new tyre to replace the one I bought fro the two days earlier but it was closer to the tread than yours. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Tubless tyres used to have small ribs on the inside of the tyre to help with strenght, these ribs tend to rub/scuff inner tubes and cause them to fail. I assume tubless tyres are still the same and this is why they specifiy not to fit tubes. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange
