The one thing I regret about our recent move to Australia was selling my 2006 HSE D3 in the UK and not importing it here. It would have cost $15K to import include duties but would have been worth it.
I just spent 24K buying a 2006 base model 5 seater that needs about 3K worth of servicing so that's 27K all in and in the UK the same car would have been worth around 14K! White, poverty spec 4.0v6 model with Black 20inch alloys that previous owner fitted but I kinda like.

Australian pricing is definitely out of whack compared to the USA, but then again, just about every other country will be in the same situation relative to the USA.
I don't know any country where a brand new car can be bought for less than what the Americans pay for the same vehicle.
Aussie cars are still relatively affordable - try buying a Land Rover in Malaysia, and forget about Singapore.
