From the photo and description on eBay, it looks like they've read redjelly5000's post on page 14 of this thread and wrapped his suggested kit in blue plastic!

Can't believe I have just seen this thread was quite a lot to read through and probably skipped a few pages
I have started my own twist on drl's but not quite completed them yet, I have started by building my own led ring which fit around the headlight using neo pixels (programmable leds) which eventually I will connect to an arduino uno and if I can get it working a canbus shield which could be programmed to know when lights are on and because the leds are programmable I can make them any colour and brightness depending on input, I should be able to get them to switch to orange and be used as indicators maybe in a new Audi style.
dlw,
Looks loaded with potential for 8) mods; good luck.
For others, like me, who had known nothing about this technology, you can get lots of basic info and ideas at www.adafruit.com

@Bikereck
I understand most of it but I have never coded and understand C++ but haven't got around to learn how to write it I can copy and paste very well though
I had intended to fit LED rings as DRL's inside the headlights while de-tangoing my D3. I spent a good while humming and hawing around whether to fit them on the main light surround, or in front of the main beams, and how to run the cables. Eventually, given the number of comments on here about failed LED elements, I decided to avoid repeated hairdryer/oven sessions just to replace a dodgy LED and go for the foglamp-mounted DRLs instead.
Whichever way you decide to go, good luck with it.

Would like to resurrect this thread seeing as a lot of the links on fleabay are now dead.
Can some recommend a decent ring LED DLR to fit in the fog lights (as shown on here) plus a compatible auto dimming DLR relay unit so the DLR's come on when the car is unlocked, run at full brightness through the day and then dim when dipped auto come on.

Your eBay ad states these will fit D3 + D4. Are you aware the fog lights are different on a D4 and don't come apart?Mods:

Tried to follow trollman's link and I get a pop-up saying "the site you are on is trying to close this page" ... I've let it so far, takes me back to this thread..

The link issue seems true of anything I try from the forum ... Suspect it's something in Windowsphone 10 build I'm running?.

I'm sure it is in here somewhere (and I have trawled through the thread honest) but can someone confirm the colour of the correct wire to use for the cable that connects to the main beam to activate the DLR switch to dim them please when main beam comes on.
I have one wire going to the battery negative, another piggy back off a fuse and this works fine. But I need to connect the extra cable for dimming. Want to be sure I get the right one before I start splicing!

You don't want main beam, you want dipped beam but some would argue you want side lights.
