I think it was mid £40 to buy a D4 lever, and the chrome strip is'nt available seperate. Even if the strip was it would defeat the point, it was the Leather Lever I was after, unlike the D3 lever which is hard plastic.

Mac
Was referring to possibly placing the existing trim from the D3 lever into the the new D4 lever as an option as i dont really have any chrome in mine and you said the D4 version is shiny?

Yup, can be done as the parts are inter changable, except the Rod. Everything else is the same.

My D3 HSE (Auto) did have a leather gear lever. When I bought the D3, I mentioned to the dealer that it should have a leather lever and not a plastic one - they checked and the correct one was fitted.

you got me scratching my head
So How did you put the air bag back on your new steering wheel
I wrote "disconnect" not "without removing". Just for the people who are afraid for disconnecting the airbag. Of course the airbag has to remove (with the hooks), but there is no need to disconnect it (and the controls for cruise and/or radio if fitted). Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE java black (in Europe)

Fitted mine over the weekend, not quite straight which was beyond annoying as now have to get airbag out again next weekend to adjust wheel.
However, end product does look fab, much better than original, smoothness (and slippiness) just takes a bit of getting used to
