D4 oil level

My D4 oil level is exactly halfway on the screen and saying ok.

Is it worth topping up to full and if so how much oil will I need.

Many thanks

Mine can show full, one bar down or two bars down when parked for 8 hours on the same spot but on different days!

I have put a cup full of oil in in over a 9000 mile period and that was in the first month.

Shame it doesn't use the same amount of diesal

I try and keep mine one block of the top if that makes sense - seems to have used miniscule amounts of oil compared to D3 in the same first 15K period

Mine is generally around 2 bars down (assuming I remeber to check within 10 mins and can find a flat space to park) and says "ok" so I haven't added anything as I understand from the manual that it'll tell you when to add oil. Just out of interest, where do you get the oil from ? I have a brand new bottle from my 2.7TD Jag but the spec has changed so I can't use it.

The only place I eventually tracked it down was a dealers (Stratstone, Burnham) selling 1Lt containers. Another two dealers tried either did not have any or tried to sell me the wrong grade - so you might have to search a little to get it.

On the hard shoulder of the Motorway at 01.00 in the rain, wondering why it's suddenly stopped

While we are on this subject, i have been told to change the oil every 10,000km as the oil is absolutely stuffed by the recomended 25k service interval. Any one have any experience with this?
