Got my D3 now need some advice |
|
Hi Guys,
I recently sold my D2 V8 recently and traded up to a 2007 TDV6 HSE. Really loving it ! what a change over the D2
What I need is information of who in Cape Town I can contact to have the software upgarded so I dont have to pair the phone every time I get in. I know it is a common issue but can not seem to find on the forum who I should contact in CT.
I will post pics of the old girl this evening
Thanks 2007 TDV6 HSE

Thanks Geoff
DiscoWest I am based in jhb, so can't help immediately. Every time I travel I announce it on the thread Geoff highlighted. There is apparently a chap in cape town with an autologic that may be able to help but I don't know his details. search for +autologic +cape or similar.
Otherwise ask your local LR dealer to help. They may do it for you depending on how much money you have spent with them
You can contact me on Anthony at TorqTune.co.za or VODACOM 6500615

Thanks Baben,
I have booked her into LR N1 City next week. I spoke to a very helpful chap in the workshop and he will update the software for me (1 hour labour charge R500). Do you think I will then have no issues with an iPhone 4?
Cheers 2007 TDV6 HSE

Hi All
New to the forum and just recently took delivery of a 2005 SE Tdv6. (124000km on the clock)
Very happy, but soooo many questions that the manuals can't answer me on.
Any help from the forum will be appreciated.
1) What is the biggest differences between the S and SE?
2) How the hell do I connect my Blackberry to the built in "phone system" can I?? According to the website is has a bluetooth system that is compatible with Blackberries.
3) My display unit does not give me the oppertunity to view the 4 x 4 info showing the wheel travel etc? Can this be changed or is it only on the HSE models?
4) Average fuel consumption?
5) Any offroad tyres available in a 255/60/18? OR what other sizes can be fitted?
6) Can one play arounf with the air suspension. I.e. to get more height?
7) I can here a "knock" coming from the front suspension when going over a bump at speed. Any idea what this can be?
8) The fuse keep on blowing of my front fog lights - any suggestions?
9) Which key must I use to remove the tow bar?
I will appreciate any info.
Thanks
Dirk Brand

What's with all the CT guys now waking up and buying D3's ?
Dirk, most of your questions will have detailed answers if you just hit the search button, but for basic answers here goes:
1) main differences are S has no nav screen, lower spec stereo. Engine & drivetrain same across all specs in SA, eDiff included on all models
2) bluetooth only standard on HSE spec. You can buy a BT module and fit it. I have one for sale and so does clint. Needs coding to the vehicle though, which I can do but i am in GP
3) only on HSE but anyone with a faultmate can enable this for you
4) depends on right foot Pre '07 heavier on fuel. Expect 11l/100 in mixed driving best you'll get. Likely 12
5) lots. Look under "wheels and tyres" in the main section
6) yes. various methods. Search around, too many answers
7) bushes - can be fitted by any decent independent, also search in the forum
8) not common, check wiring
9) should be a small key with a green folding head
Hope this helps. As i said, search is your friend, most of your questions are quite common and the answers are on this forum

Thanks for your quick response.
I think D3's are becoming more affordable now. I had my D2 for 3 years and found this immaculate one in Malmesbury.
I will have a search on the site - thanks.
The BT module that you talk about - is this standard LR kit?
How much do you want?
Anyone with a Faultmate in CPT out there?
Thanks for the help.

The fuse keep on blowing of my front fog lights - any suggestions?
hi there are a few posts on the site relating to the above - apparently the wiring gets chafed and it causes the fuse to blow when it touches the metal surrounding.
i still have to do mine, but the fix seems to be as follow:
- remove covers surrounding the fog lights
- loosen the lights with a screwdriver (it is a special screw driver)
- pull the lights toward you and use insulation tape to cover the chafed wiring
- refit the fogs
hope it helps

The chaps that I used previously to service my Disco 2 - also have all the required kit to activate the 4x4 info etc.
Place is called Gateway in Wellington. (about 40 minutes outside of CPT)
Will make a booking for my new Disco 3 for a proper once over.
Now the spending starts all over again....
