Servicing and warranty Q please!
Sure this has been done to death but my D4 is due for its first service, does it have to be done by a main dealer in order to keep the warranty valid?

No it doesn't. The law changed to prevent warranties being made invalid that way.
However a non-Land Rover garage won't have the equipment to check and update the software. So basically you still need to go to a LR dealer!Paul

Or a good independant LR service agent. I know its too far for you but i will be using Roean in Telford as they are approx half the labour costs of a main stealer with all the experience and equipment available.
There's also the goodwill issue - should you have a failure just out of warranty, you'd be more likely to receive a goodwill contribution from LR if the vehicle has main dealer service records.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
